Golden Retriever engagement at Cape Kiwanda | Kenya + Cole

Buckle up cause your about to experience the cutest engagement session with the sweetest Golden Retriever EVERRRRR.
Our favorite part about working with Kenya and Cole was the way they would laugh together, it was so warm and utterly contagious. I find so much beauty and life in laughter and am always drawn to it especially when its shared between two people in love.

We planned on shooting at sunset to get those golden rays for photos , but in typical Oregon fashion the clouds rolled to hide the sun from us, but with this gloomy weather Cape Kiwanda quickly became a dark beauty full of drama, it was a perfect match to Kenya’s emerald green gown! We especially loved the gloominess cause Kenya loves horror movies and with the grey clouds we were given a beautiful spookiness over the landscape.
I don’t quite understand how Kenya & Cole looked so freaking amazing while we were like frozen popsicles behind the camera haha I swear these two were created to be in front of the camera and we cannot wait for their wedding at Bridal Veil lakes this June when they are all dressed up in their wedding attire!

If you got this far in reading this post, we’d just like you to know that ater meting hunter and falling in love with his sweet little face we decided to make it an official rule that you must bring your dog to your engagement session. ;)

Words from Kenya:

Cole and I are from opposite ends of the country and still somehow found our way to each other; I consider that my luckiest streak. We compliment each other in all the best ways. We’re brought together by not only our love and respect for each other but also the strong bonds we hold to our families. It only made sense we would get engaged with those we love the most around us. It was Christmas time in St Augustine, Florida. We were surrounded by family, twinkling lights, and the effortless beauty of St Augustine when Cole got on one knee. We had spent 5 years together at that point, 3 of them were long distance.
We’ve met many obstacles and crossed them together over these years, and along the way our hearts met again when we adopted our golden boy, Hunter. He was born the same month we started dating on the east coast and we found him needing a home at 4 years old in Portland, Oregon. There’s that destiny again! He was meant to be ours. He brings out the best in both of us and is easily the sweetest doggy I’ve ever met! Our hearts will forever be marked by him and we can’t wait to see where destiny takes us to next.
