Boho inspired Maternity Session | Essie + Nick
We’ve had the privilege to work with Essie & Nick from literal day one! Okay maybe not literally day one but in terms of photos we’ve been shooting with them since their engagement! So I count that as day one haha. Its so crazy to think that Maks and I have been working with Essie & Nick throughout the last 6+ years, we photographed their engagement photos, wedding, their first pregnancy and now their second pregnancy.
They have watched us grow more and more into our style and we’ve watched them grow into a beautiful family.
Some sessions make me a little anxious because I dont always know how they will turn out, I dont know how the people i’m going to be photographing will take my ideas, if they will actually commit to the direction I give them. But with Essie and Nick, I literally feel SO relaxed working with them. They are like my comfort couple, there is such an ease knowing that they are on board with any and every little idea I have. Literally every time Essie has reached out to me for photos I just KNOW that these photos are going to be completely different from the last. We both have grown and changed throughout the years of working together, but one thing that hasn’t changed is our mutual desire to create something fresh and new and something completely different from our previous photoshoot. I will forever love working with Essie and Nick, I will forever be thankful for the confidence they have in me, for their constant support in my business as it grows and evolves with time. Hopefully we’ll get to work together for a lifetime.
Anyways enough of my thoughts and back to the photos, for this maternity session we went with something whimsical and classic for the first half with a simple neutral palette and took photos under a beautiful overgrown tree. For the second half we went with something more boho and free, and got the chance to give it an editorial vibe in a lovely open field surrounded by mountains.
I say this every time but these are defintely my favorite photos we’ve taken together.
