Stormy Oregon elopement at Arch Cape | Lynsey & Donovan
When people talk about a perfect wedding day often they say talk about the clear skies, the sun shining warmly and everything going as planned, but I’ve lost count how many times things that were planned for didnt happen how we thought it would. More often then not wedding days are riddled with many little surprises.
If those surprises are classified as bad or good or if they affect the idea of a perfect wedding, I cant say. All I can say is that how someone determines a perfect wedding day is in the eye of the beholder. One person could remember their wedding day as cold and rainy, while another could remember the thrill of dancing on their wedding day in the rain. How we choose to see things is really up to us, the perfect wedding day doesnt have to be able whether or not it went as planned, it can be perfect by simply happening and being a memory that is ours and ours alone.
Sometimes I like to think of the things that go “wrong” as little surprises. Little alterations that tailor the day into more unique memories for our couples to reminisce about. I like to imagine how people tell the story of their wedding day and how it would sound when everything is perfect; “our day was absolutely perfect, it was everything we dreamed of”. The perfect day can sometime feels the tiniest bit boring, its like knowing whats going to happen next in a movie, there is no thrills, no surprises, no plot twists. Sometimes those unexpected surprises make for a wonderful story.
Lynsey & Donovan Oregon elopement was nothing short of surprises. A stormy ceremony on the shoreline of Arch Cape, as the skies above us were brewing, and for the finale the clouds opened up to allow the thrill of dancing in the rain & sharing rain drenched kisses.
